Anxiety Treatment

Are Fear And Self-Doubt Holding You Back From Your Ideal Life?

Is anxiety preventing you from realizing what you want to do—or are capable of doing—with your life? Are you hesitant to go after what truly makes you happy because you underestimate your gifts or abilities?

Perhaps when it comes to making decisions, you end up second-guessing yourself into “analysis paralysis.” Or maybe, despite being aware of the impact anxiety has on your life, you still struggle to find or implement a solution.

Stress and Anxiety Can Pollute Nearly Every Aspect Of Your Well-Being

On an emotional level, you may be dogged by internal criticism, insecurity, fear, and a need to be hypervigilant. You’re probably experiencing a lot of muscle tension or knots in your stomach. At times, your heart probably races so fast that all you want to do is find the quickest “out” and run away.

Though you may find socializing relatively easy, you could have trouble interacting with individuals you feel have higher status or more power. And despite having close, satisfying relationships with a select number of people, you likely find it difficult to set boundaries or assert your own needs.

Anxiety Has A Sneaky Way Of Becoming A Backdrop To Life

But you don’t have to let stress and self-doubt define you or your future. Through our collaboration, I believe you can feel calmer in your interactions with others and more confident in how you perceive yourself and what you are capable of.

Anxiety Is Much More Common Than Most People Think

Fear and anxiety hold many people back from being happy and building the life they want for themselves. The problem is that some individuals are really good at hiding their struggles, so more people are dealing with anxiety than it seems.

On some levels, anxiety can be positive: it can warn us of danger and motivate us to create change. However, since fear is a natural response to threats—whether real or perceived—many people who have experienced loss, a difficult childhood, or any other trauma can default to anxiety out of self-preservation.

What Causes Anxiety And Why Is It So Hard To Manage?

In addition to trauma, genetics and the mental health history of family members often play a role. However, more and more, it’s the world we live in that drives anxiety. Covid-19, our polarizing political landscape—even social media and Youtube can produce a huge amount of stress and self-doubt.

Unfortunately, overcoming the problem on your own can be very difficult because when you are steeped in anxiety, it becomes the norm. It would be like asking a fish to identify the water it lives in. When you get caught up in your own head, swimming through negative thoughts and feelings, that world becomes reality.

Often, it takes someone on the outside to anchor you—to help you out of the water and back onto solid ground. And that’s what I am here to do.

Anxiety Treatment Can Change The Course Of Your Life

Many people coping with anxiety are so busy managing their symptoms that they don’t have an opportunity to vent and process what is happening to them.

Anxiety treatment gives you the chance to make sense of your life and heal wounds from the past so you can choose how you want to live now. It helps you improve relationships, build communication skills, and effectively change the trajectory of your life.

A Look Inside My Anxiety Counseling Sessions

When you come into anxiety therapy, you can expect to be immediately equipped with tools for balancing your nervous system both in and outside of sessions. I’ll help you identify triggers—or more accurately—the prompting events that increase anxiety and impair rational thinking.

I’ll also teach you several coping strategies, including ways to re-wire your brain so that anxiety doesn’t take over. As we work together, you’ll begin to expand your self-acceptance and self-compassion, bringing you a much greater sense of peace, love, and inner strength that you can then share with the world.

My first goal in therapy is to collaborate with you to help you find some short-term relief for any anxiety symptoms or personal challenges you’re experiencing. Simultaneously, particularly at the beginning of our relationship, I’ll look for the core issues contributing to the overarching problem.

That involves developing a rapport and a sense of safety with me that enables you to be open and explore those deeper parts of yourself. Then, I’ll help you heal and release the wounding, trauma, or originating issue that’s causing all this trouble in the first place.

Some Of The Tools I Use For Anxiety Treatment

I realize that not everyone has the same experience with anxiety, which is why I use an eclectic approach to counseling.

To provide clients with some immediate relief from anxiety symptoms, I draw from elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), including mindfulness and somatic strategies. Then, once they feel comfortable, I introduce clients to the Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT Tapping, to help increase their tolerance to distress outside of sessions.

Similarly, for processing and resolving traumatic experiences, I often use a blend of mindfulness, somatic, and Energy Psychology approaches, including EFT tapping, that balance the nervous system and release trauma stuck in the body.

By learning more about yourself and healing the deeper parts of you that are in pain, you’ll learn how to accept yourself with a sense of self-love and compassion that will naturally inform how you see yourself and how you interact with other people.

As a counselor, I’ve been helping clients heal and reclaim their life from anxiety for over ten years. And I know that therapy truly works. You have the unique opportunity to transform the powerful energy of fear and doubt into something that can fundamentally change the trajectory of your life for the better.

You deserve to believe in yourself and enjoy everything that life has to offer. So what are you waiting for? Let me help you make sense of your life and introduce you to a new way of being.

Perhaps You’re Considering Anxiety Treatment But Still Have Some Concerns…

I worry about the financial cost over the long haul.

We all find ways to justify spending money on luxuries we may not really need but make us feel a little better—for just a little while. Anxiety therapy, in contrast, is an investment that has the power to help you overcome trauma, heal intergenerational wounds, and find relief that lasts.

Getting a new Coach purse or that latest Apple gadget can feel great in the short term, but why not invest in your long-term well-being with anxiety treatment? By decreasing your suffering, you can find greater joy, confidence, and peace in your life.

I’ve had friends who’ve gone to anxiety counseling and said that their therapist just sat there listening quietly without offering any real help.

First, I want to say I’m sorry your friend had that experience. Believing in anxiety treatment is already a hard first step to take, so not getting what you need from therapy can be very frustrating.

That’s one reason I will work hard to make sure you feel some sense of immediate relief—even within the first session. That involves not just listening but also providing you with tangible skills and concrete actions you can take for dealing with anxiety outside of sessions where life really happens.

I’m afraid anxiety treatment will actually work and I’ll have to change my life altogether.

Many people worry that going to therapy translates into being forced to up-end their lives entirely. But the truth is that getting to the root of any issue and changing how you respond to those challenges allows you to make incremental changes on your own terms.

Together, we can collaborate on your treatment options and map out decisions that will enable you to make positive yet gradual life transitions in a controlled, calm, and empowering manner. Ultimately, you are the one with the power.
